In the past ten years, many mid-sized seed companies have consolidated into larger multinationals which has caused a great turmoil in the seed business. Seed availability has been compromised, research programs have been eliminated, and high talented personnel have left. These new developments have opened the door to new opportunities never seen in the seed business before. They have also allowed many breeders to leave multinationals and start their own companies.
Many of the multinationals are exiting smaller markets and classes which has opened doors for PanDia Seeds to enter and harvest those products. Many of the exclusive dealers that used to represent these multinationals are unhappy with the past state of the business, stemming from a lack of support. However, PanDia Seeds will take advantage of this dynamic business by joining forces with mid-sized seed developers, independent and university breeding programs, and/or local dealers in each country.
PanDia Seeds will develop niche and unique varieties suitable for Latin America and mid-sized growers in other regions, as well as introduce new and innovative products that offer qualitative and quantitative improvements to growers, supermarkets, and consumers.
