Seed Storage
Seed storage is critical to the success of any seed company. Storage conditions can drastically effect the ability of seed to maintain its germination and vigor. Thus, PanDia Seeds highly encourages its distributors and growers to follow Harrington's Rule of Thumb for optimal seed storage.
Harrington's Rule of Thumb
Maintain seed storage so that the ambient airs relative moisture content percentage plus the temperature in Fahrenheit adds to no more than 100.
-For each 1% decrease in the relative moisture content, the storage life of a seed is doubled.
-For each 5.6 degree Celsius (10 degree Fahrenheit) decrease in storage temperature, the storage life of a seed is doubled.
-The arithmetic sum of percent relative humidity and the temperature in Fahrenheit should not exceed 100, with not more than half of that contributed by temperature.
